Long-term stability in ?-CsPbI3 perovskite via an ultraviolet-curable polymer network

Abstract Black-colored (?, ?-phase) CsPbI 3 perovskites have a small bandgap and excellent absorption properties in the visible light regime, making them attractive for solar cells. However, their long-term stability ambient conditions is limited. Here, we demonstrate strategy to improve structural electrical ?-CsPbI by use of an ultraviolet-curable polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate (PEGDMA) polymer network. Oxygen lone pair electrons from PEGDMA are found capture Cs + Pb 2+ cations, improving crystal growth around PEGDMA. In addition, network strongly contributes maintaining black phase more than 35 days air, optimized perovskite film retained ~90% its initial under red, green, blue irradiation.
